Sentient Jet Card: How It Works, What It Costs and Who It Fits
Provider terms
A Sentient Jet card buys a 25-hour block of flying in one cabin category for a published base price, with a fuel surcharge and federal excise tax added on top. We found no card agreement, rate card or FAQ in Sentient’s public materials, so every program term on this page is Provider-stated, taken from Sentient’s own web pages (checked 2026-09-25).

How the Sentient Jet card works
Sentient’s jet card page lists two cards with prices, each sold as a 25-hour block: the SJ25 for light jets, and the SJ25+, bought separately for the Mid, Super-Mid or Large Cabin category (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25). Both card pages state “Jet Card hours that never expire”.
The SJ25 allows an “Upgrade to another jet size at fixed hourly rates”, and the SJ25+ an “Upgrade or downgrade”, a feature known as interchange.
Sentient’s SJ25+ card page describes Sentient Jet, LLC as “an ‘Air Charter Broker’ under DOT regulations” and states: “Sentient acts as authorized agent for the Cardholder … to contract for transportation services with FAR Part 135 Direct Air Carriers that operate and exercise full operational control over those flights at all times” (retrieved 2026-09-25). An air charter broker sells or arranges charters flown by a direct air carrier. We did not find the carriers named in Sentient’s public materials (checked 2026-09-25); the DOT’s broker rule requires a broker to give you the carrier’s corporate name before you contract for a specific flight (14 CFR 295.24(a)(1), eCFR issue date 2026-09-15).
What a Sentient Jet card costs
The card pages show no date; we read these figures on 2026-09-25, and the pages’ site metadata records a last update on 2026-04-16.
| Card | Base 25-hour price | Base hourly rate | Label |
|---|---|---|---|
| SJ25 Light | $183,100 | $7,324 | Provider-stated |
| SJ25+ Mid | $235,850 | Not confirmed | Provider-stated (price) |
| SJ25+ Super-Mid | $288,225 | $11,529 | Provider-stated |
| SJ25+ Large Cabin | $341,000 | $13,640 | Provider-stated |
The base rate is the headline, not the invoice. Each card page states “Fuel Surcharge and Federal Excise Tax will apply”, and the surcharge amount is not published (checked 2026-09-25). Federal excise tax (FET) is 7.5% of the amount paid for taxable air transportation (26 U.S.C. §4261(a)).
Also not published (checked 2026-09-25): daily minimums, taxi-time billing, de-icing, repositioning, peak-day charges, initiation or annual fees, and an international fee schedule.
Estimate, one domestic SJ25 hour: the $7,324 base hourly rate (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25) plus 7.5% FET under 26 U.S.C. §4261(a) ($549.30) is at least $7,873.30. It excludes the fuel surcharge, any tax on that surcharge, the federal segment tax and any unpublished charge. With those missing, no full effective rate can be computed; the cost calculator follows the same “at least” rule.
Both card pages state a 12-month lock on hourly rates but do not say whether it covers the fuel surcharge. They also advertise round-trip “efficiency discounts” of 15% (SJ25) and “Up to 15%” (SJ25+) on “qualifying” trips, without saying what qualifies. What rate locks and fuel clauses cover.
Sentient’s site also has a landing page for a Large Cabin Edition Jet Card, with an enquiry form and no rates or terms (Provider-stated, checked 2026-09-25).
Availability, notice and booking
Sentient’s availability promise depends on notice, or callout. A Sentient blog post dated 2026-09-28 says card owners get “guaranteed availability with 48 hours’ notice on standard travel days, and 120 hours’ notice on a limited number of peak travel days” (Provider-stated); it covers both the SJ25 and the SJ25+. Each SJ25+ card page also says it “offers guaranteed access” to its cabin category.
For Europe, Sentient states that once you have landed in London, access is “guaranteed with 72 hours’ notice (within zones)”; the zones are not defined publicly (checked 2026-09-25).
Peak days exist but are not listed. A footnote on the Mid jet page reads: “Sentient cannot guarantee eight passengers on a Mid jet during designated Peak Travel Days.” Apart from the 120-hour notice, no count, dates or surcharge for those days is published, and neither are cancellation terms or aircraft-substitution rules (checked 2026-10-04).
Bookings run through Sentient’s app, text messages or the Card Owner web portal, backed by what Sentient calls “an extensive 24/7 customer service operation”.
Coverage and aircraft
Sentient’s international page, the source of the 72-hour notice above, lists “Extended, guaranteed access to popular EU destinations like Paris, Zurich, Milan and Frankfurt” and “Transatlantic routes with dynamic, competitive pricing”.
Sentient lists example types and a passenger maximum for each category (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25):
- Light (SJ25): Phenom 300, CJ series; up to 7 passengers.
- Mid (SJ25+): Citation Excel/XLS, Hawker 800XP series; up to 8, which Sentient “cannot guarantee” on designated Peak Travel Days.
- Super-Mid (SJ25+): Challenger 300 series, Citation X; up to 8.
- Large Cabin (SJ25+): Challenger 600 series, Gulfstream IV/400 series, Global series; up to 12.
Sentient words the SJ25+ guarantee as access to a cabin category, not to a specific aircraft type. SJ25+ cards include “Premier aircraft with guaranteed, complimentary Wi-Fi”; Wi-Fi terms for the SJ25 are not published (checked 2026-09-25). See how interchange across categories works.
Financial safeguards
Sentient describes itself as “now a Flexjet company” (Sentient release, 2025-12-16). That identifies the owner; it says nothing about how card payments are held.
We found no statement on escrow or segregated accounts for card funds, on refunds of unused hours, or on any guarantee of prepaid funds in Sentient’s public materials (Not published, checked 2026-09-25). Under escrow or segregation, a buyer’s money is held apart from the seller’s operating funds. See how to assess safeguards before you prepay.
What Sentient Jet states about audits and who operates its flights
PJReviews has not audited or assessed the safety of any operator or program. These are Sentient Jet's own statements, quoted word for word with the date we read them, and the operator records we found.
Audit and registration statements
“A crucial element of our safety program is a rigorous, proprietary certification process called Sentient Certified.”
— Private Jet Safety & Certification | Sentient Jet, read September 25, 2026
“Flights will be sourced through the proprietary Sentient Certified™ Network of Direct Air Carriers that meet all FAA or comparable foreign safety standards and additional safety standards established by Sentient.”
— Jet Card: SJ25+ Mid, Super-Mid, & Large Jets | Sentient Jet, read September 25, 2026
Who operates the flights
- According to Sentient Jet's card page, it is 'an “Air Charter Broker” under DOT regulations' and 'acts as authorized agent for the Cardholder' (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25).
- According to Sentient Jet's card page, flights are operated by 'FAR Part 135 Direct Air Carriers that operate and exercise full operational control over those flights at all times'; the carriers are not named on the page (checked 2026-09-25) (Provider-stated).
Reported in the press and public records

- SherpaReport reported on 2026-06-24 that about 30-35% of Sentient Jet booking requests are digital-only, per president Alan Walsh Source
Editorial view: who it fits
PJReviews’ opinion, written from the labelled facts on this page.
Read from the stated terms above, the card suits flyers who:
- fly an uneven number of hours each year, since Sentient states the hours do not expire;
- use different cabin sizes for different trips, since Sentient states both cards allow moving to another jet size at fixed hourly rates;
- want a published base price per category to budget from, with fuel surcharge and tax on top.
It suits less well buyers who need the peak-day calendar and cancellation terms in writing before paying.
Sentient is more open about price than about terms. It shows base prices for all four categories and base hourly rates for light, super-midsize and large-cabin cards, and says hours never expire and rates are locked for 12 months. Its blog states the notice periods, but the terms that settle a flight’s final cost and when the availability promise applies (the number of peak days, cancellation, fuel surcharge, ancillary fees) are not public (checked 2026-10-04). Compare the card agreement, not the web page, with programs that publish their terms on our comparison.
Not confirmed
We did not find these terms in Sentient Jet's public materials, or could not confirm them, as of October 4, 2026. That says nothing either way; ask the provider.
- SJ25 Jet Card (Light): initiation fee, annual membership fee, term, refund policy, taxi-time billing, repositioning charges, peak days, peak-day surcharge, cancellation (standard), cancellation (peak days), aircraft substitution, guest use, pets, empty legs, escrow or segregation of funds
- SJ25+ Jet Card (Mid, Super-Mid, Large Cabin): initiation fee, annual membership fee, term, refund policy, taxi-time billing, repositioning charges, peak days, peak-day surcharge, cancellation (standard), cancellation (peak days), aircraft substitution, guest use, pets, empty legs, escrow or segregation of funds
What to confirm before you buy
- The card agreement and current rate and fee schedule (for the SJ25+ Mid, the hourly rate itself); none is public (checked 2026-09-25).
- That the 48- and 120-hour callouts from Sentient’s blog are in your card agreement, this year’s designated Peak Travel Days, and any peak-day surcharge.
- The current hourly fuel surcharge for your category, whether the 12-month lock covers it, and whether FET is charged on it.
- Cancellation charges, daily minimums, taxi time, de-icing and repositioning, and the rate applied when you switch category or book a qualifying round trip.
- The corporate name of the Part 135 carrier for each flight before you contract, and how Sentient chooses between carriers.
- Whether unused hours can be refunded and on what terms, and whether card funds are held in escrow or a segregated account.
