NetJets Card: How It Works, What It Costs and Who It Fits

Provider terms

Reported limited for new buyers. SherpaReport reported on 2026-08-06 that NetJets 'has paused all new sales of its 25-hour jet cards and its 25-hour per year leases'. NetJets' own card and pricing pages, checked 2026-09-25, do not mention a change. Reported by SherpaReport, August 6, 2026

The NetJets jet card, from Berkshire Hathaway's NetJets, is prepaid 25 hours at a time for use within 24 months, on US aircraft NetJets says are "managed and operated by NetJets Aviation, Inc." (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25). Read the sales-status notice above first. It suits flexible flyers who book at least 48 hours ahead and can avoid peak periods, if NetJets offers them a card.

How the NetJets jet card works

The card is prepaid in blocks ("Prepay 25 hours at a time"), with "24 months to use your flight hours", and "Remaining hours terminate at contract end date" (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25). It is bought upfront "for a set price" that NetJets says covers the program's cost components.

NetJets' US pages give two access figures: 275 days of annual access at the entry price, and "up to 320 days" on the card page (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25). The number of blackout and peak days for each access level is not published (checked 2026-09-25).

NetJets lists five card aircraft "with downgrades guaranteed, upgrades subject to availability" (Provider-stated), without saying which access level includes which type or what an upgrade costs (see interchange). NetJets says "the majority of our aircraft types are authorized to transport pets—even when all seats are occupied" (Provider-stated); rules for guests on the card are not published (checked 2026-09-25).

NetJets card cost: the starting price and what it includes

NetJets publishes one US card price. Its FAQ states: "Solutions begin at $215,000 for a jet card with 275 days of annual access" (Primary source, 2026-09-25). We found no published hourly rate for any aircraft, and NetJets does not say which aircraft that price covers.

If the starting price buys the minimum 25-hour block, it works out to $8,600 an hour (Estimate: $215,000 ÷ 25) for an unnamed aircraft. The price with up to 320 days of access is not published (checked 2026-09-25).

NetJets describes the price as inclusive (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25):

  • Wi-Fi, catering and de-icing are included.
  • Fuel is included "up to the per-gallon fuel cost specified in your contract"; the cap is not published.
  • No ferry fees apply within its Collective Service Area, or between it and many popular international locations.
  • Flight minimum charges are waived on the Embraer Praetor 500 or smaller aircraft, in the contiguous US and on certain international flights to or from it (Short Leg Flight Program).
  • Maintenance substitutions come "at no additional cost to you".

NetJets' own pages describe "all-inclusive jet card pricing" but do not name federal excise tax (FET), the federal tax on taxable air transportation, so whether the price includes it is not published.

Not published (checked 2026-09-25): taxi-time billing, international charges, cancellation charges, upgrade pricing, initiation or annual fees, escalators and ferry charges outside the waiver zones. For programs that publish rates, the jet card cost calculator estimates the effect of published fees, surcharges and taxi-time billing.

Availability, peak periods and booking

NetJets states card flights are "Guaranteed with as little as 48 hours' notice" (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25), within the card's access days. Its Peak Period Days page states that "travel on Peak Period Days is not currently available for new card Owners" (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25).

For peak-season travel, NetJets tells owners to "Expect that we may need to subcontract an aircraft and crew for you" (Provider-stated; peak days explained).

Cancellation windows and charges are not published (checked 2026-09-25). Booking is "via phone call, email, mobile app, or online", and NetJets says its service experts are "Available 24/7 year-round" (Provider-stated).

Where the card flies and on which aircraft

NetJets' Collective Service Area is "the contiguous U.S. and select cities in Canada", with no ferry fees inside it (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25); ferry charges outside its waiver zones are not published (checked 2026-09-25; international repositioning fees explained).

The five US card aircraft are the Embraer Phenom 300/E (light), Cessna Citation Latitude (midsize), Bombardier Challenger 350 (super-midsize), Challenger 650 (large) and Global 5000/6000, which NetJets calls long-range (Provider-stated).

NetJets' European operations are based in Lisbon (Berkshire Hathaway Form 10-K; Primary source). Its separate euro-priced card starts at €188,500. NetJets' Europe cost page gives two access figures for that price: 275 days in its text and 290 days in its comparison table (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25). NetJets lists four card aircraft for Europe, the Phenom 300/E, Citation Latitude, Challenger 350 and Global 6000, with 48 hours' notice; the SherpaReport article does not say whether Europe is affected.

Financial safeguards and the parent company

NetJets is a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary, and Berkshire's Form 10-K for 2025, filed 2026-03-02, describes NetJets' programs, including the NetJets Card Program (Primary source). Ownership is not a guarantee of your prepayment, and a parent guarantee of card prepayments is not published (checked 2026-09-25).

How prepayments are held (escrow, a segregated account or general funds) and the refund rules for unused hours are not published; we did not find a card agreement in NetJets' public materials (checked 2026-09-25). See financial safeguards explained.

Editorial view: who it fits

PJReviews’ opinion, written from the labelled facts on this page.

Who the NetJets card fits

It fits when:

  • You fly mainly in the contiguous US and select Canadian cities: NetJets states no ferry fees apply there.
  • Your dates are flexible: 48 hours' notice, a set number of access days and, for new card owners, no peak-period travel all reward planning ahead.
  • You may move to a share: for its Europe card, NetJets says remaining hours "may be used when graduating to share"; see jet card vs fractional ownership.

New buyers should first ask NetJets whether a card is offered to them. Compare programs that publish rates in the jet card comparison.

Strengths. NetJets describes the price as covering Wi-Fi, catering, de-icing and fuel up to a contract cap, with no ferry fees in its Collective Service Area, downgrades it calls guaranteed and no flight minimums on smaller aircraft.

Limitations. SherpaReport reported on 2026-08-06 that NetJets "has paused all new sales of its 25-hour jet cards" (see the notice above). New card owners cannot currently fly on peak days, notice is 48 hours, hours end after 24 months, and we found no public card agreement or per-aircraft rate card.

Suits occasional flyers with flexible dates who book 48 hours ahead and can avoid peak periods, and flyers weighing a NetJets share. Less suitable for new buyers who need a card now, peak-date travel and trips booked inside 48 hours.

Not confirmed

We did not find these terms in NetJets' public materials, or could not confirm them, as of September 26, 2026. That says nothing either way; ask the provider.

  • NetJets Card — 275 days of annual access (U.S.): initiation fee, annual membership fee, refund policy, federal excise tax, taxi-time billing, round-trip discount, peak-day booking notice, peak days, peak-day surcharge, cancellation (standard), cancellation (peak days), guest use, empty legs, escrow or segregation of funds
  • NetJets Card — up to 320 days of annual access (U.S.): minimum deposit, initiation fee, annual membership fee, refund policy, federal excise tax, taxi-time billing, round-trip discount, peak-day booking notice, peak days, peak-day surcharge, cancellation (standard), cancellation (peak days), guest use, empty legs, escrow or segregation of funds
  • NetJets Card (Europe): minimum deposit, initiation fee, annual membership fee, refund policy, fuel surcharge, federal excise tax, taxi-time billing, round-trip discount, peak-day booking notice, peak days, peak-day surcharge, cancellation (standard), cancellation (peak days), aircraft substitution, guest use, pets, empty legs, escrow or segregation of funds

What to confirm before you buy

  • Whether a card is offered to you, as a new buyer or at renewal, which version (275 or 320 days), and whether Europe is affected.
  • The card agreement and a rate sheet by aircraft, including what the $215,000 starting price covers.
  • The blackout and peak dates for your version and year, and whether peak-period travel is open to you.
  • Cancellation windows and charges, on and off peak.
  • The per-gallon fuel cap in your contract, what is billed above it, and whether FET is included.
  • How prepayments are held, and whether unused hours are refundable before the 24 months end.

Questions

How much does a 25-hour NetJets card cost?

NetJets' FAQ says "Solutions begin at $215,000 for a jet card with 275 days of annual access" (Primary source, 2026-09-25). If that buys the minimum 25-hour block, it is $8,600 an hour (Estimate: $215,000 ÷ 25) for an unnamed aircraft. Whether a card is offered to new buyers is not confirmed; see the notice at the top of this page.

Can you still buy a NetJets card?

Not confirmed. SherpaReport reported on 2026-08-06 that NetJets "has paused all new sales of its 25-hour jet cards and its 25-hour per year leases", and NetJets' own card and pricing pages, checked 2026-09-25, do not mention a change. Ask NetJets directly.

Do NetJets card hours expire?

Yes. NetJets gives "24 months to use your flight hours", and "Remaining hours terminate at contract end date" (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25). For the Europe card, NetJets' European page adds that remaining hours "may be used when graduating to share".

Can you fly on NetJets peak days with a card?

Not as a new card owner at present: NetJets states that "travel on Peak Period Days is not currently available for new card Owners" (Provider-stated, 2026-09-25).
