Art Basel Switzerland 2027 Dates, EuroAirport and Flying Private

Art Basel in Basel takes place June 17 to 20, 2027, at Messe Basel in Switzerland, with Preview Days on June 15 and 16. Those are the Art Basel Switzerland 2027 dates confirmed by the organizer. For private flyers, Basel's airport is unusual: EuroAirport sits on French soil and serves Switzerland, France and Germany.

• Preview Days: Tuesday, June 15, and Wednesday, June 16, 2027
• Public days: Thursday, June 17, to Sunday, June 20, 2027
• Venue: Messe Basel, Messeplatz 10, 4058 Basel, Switzerland
• Main airport: EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg (BSL)

Art Basel Switzerland 2027 dates and preview days

Art Basel's 2026 closing report states that "the 2027 edition of the fair will take place from June 17 to 20, with Preview Days on June 15 and 16." The fair's Basel page gives the same public dates. The organizer does not yet list 2027 opening hours, so check them before setting departure times. At Art Basel Miami Beach, preview days are by invitation only; check how Basel preview access works for 2027, and if you have no invitation, plan around the public days.

For scale, the same report says the 2026 edition at Messe Basel featured "290 galleries from 43 countries and territories" and welcomed 90,000 visitors across its VIP and public days. The fair's visitor page offers spotlight tours of Unlimited and of the Basel edition of Zero 10, Art Basel's initiative for art of the digital era. The report also mentions Unlimited, the sector for large-scale works, and Parcours, which in 2026 "extended the fair across Basel through 21 site-specific installations."

How to get tickets to Art Basel

Tickets for the public days are sold on Art Basel's Basel ticket page; check there for 2027 ticket types and prices once released. The fair's visitor information page also lists guided tours of selected highlights and of Unlimited, and notes that "a Guided Tour ticket does not include admission to Art Basel." Does Art Basel have a dress code? The visitor pages we reviewed do not publish one.

Art Basel airport options: EuroAirport and Zurich

The nearest airport is EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg (LFSB / BSL), which calls itself "the world's only binational airport," with separate French and Swiss sectors. Which sector your flight uses can affect customs and the road route into Basel, so raise it with your provider at the quote stage.

Zurich Airport (LSZH / ZRH) is a second option if your schedule or aircraft points there. Neither airport publishes arrangements for fair week, and this guide makes no claim about parking or slots on those dates. Our guide to choosing an airport near a major city covers the trade-offs, and our Geneva page lists providers active in Switzerland.

Where to stay for Art Basel Switzerland

Art Basel does not publish an official hotel list on the visitor pages we reviewed, so book accommodation as early as your plans allow. If you only need one or two days at the fair, a day-return flight is another way to handle it. Either way, ask your provider how the aircraft schedule fits where you are staying, and whether the aircraft waits or returns home between legs.

Collectors who also travel to Art Basel's December fair in Florida may want our Art Basel Miami Beach 2026 guide, which covers the December fair.

What to confirm with your provider

• Will you arrive in EuroAirport's Swiss or French sector, and how does that affect customs and the drive to Messe Basel?
• If you hold a preview invitation, can the schedule land you in time for June 15 or 16?
• Has parking been confirmed at the airport for your dates, or will the aircraft reposition between legs?
• Is Zurich a better fit for your aircraft or onward plans, and what is the road time to Basel at your arrival hour?
• Who arranges handling and the car to the fair?
• What happens to the booking and any deposit if your dates change?
