Uruguayan operator of Learjet 60 charter, cargo and air ambulance flights from Carrasco
Aeromás is a Uruguayan aviation company with its office in the cargo terminal (TCU) at Carrasco International Airport, which serves Montevideo. The company says it has been active since 1984 and has flown commercial air transport since 1988. It also says it has flown to Argentina on a regular basis since 1992. In 1997 it formed a partnership with Southern Cross Aviation of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Its main private service is on-demand jet charter. It also flies cargo and runs air ambulance and medical evacuation flights, which the company says carry medical equipment and a doctor and nurse on board. It also offers ground handling, such as overflight permits, flight plans, fuel, crew transport, catering and hotel bookings. Other services are discounted empty-leg flights, aircraft management for owners, and a flight training centre at Carrasco.
Aeromás flies its own aircraft rather than booking through third-party operators. The fleet listed on its website is one Learjet 60 (CX-SCA), two Embraer EMB 110 turboprops (CX-MAS and CX-MAY) and a Piper PA-38 used for training. Photo records show the Learjet 60 in Aeromás markings at Montevideo Carrasco and Buenos Aires Aeroparque.
The company lists Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Paraguay as its most common destinations. A large share of its flying has been across the Río de la Plata between Uruguay and Argentina. To book, a client asks for a quote and secures the flight by paying a 50% deposit. There is no membership or annual minimum.
Aeromás says it holds an ARGUS Gold rating and Uruguay's Marca País certification, audited by LSQA. Flyers who want to rely on the ARGUS rating should check that it is current with ARGUS directly.
