Helicopter operator at Sion Airport, Valais: charter, VIP transfers, heliski, flight school
Héli-Alpes SA is a Swiss helicopter company with its base at Sion Airport in the Valais. It was founded in 2005 and is registered in Sion as a company limited by shares. The Swiss commercial register lists it as active in passenger and cargo air transport.
Its services include business and VIP transfers, Alpine scenic flights such as shared panoramic flights to the Matterhorn, discovery flights, heliski and helibike drops, aerial work, and film and photo flights. An independent profile says much of its work comes from air taxi flights, scenic tours and private events, and that some trips have gone as far as Paris, Brussels, Monte-Carlo and Denmark.
Héli-Alpes flies its own helicopters. The fleet listed on its website includes the Bell 429 medium twin, the Bell 505 and Airbus AS350 B3+ single-engine turbine helicopters, and the Guimbal Cabri G2 piston trainer. The company's own social media profile and an independent article both give the fleet as about ten helicopters. The Bell 429 seats up to seven passengers, the AS350 five and the Bell 505 four.
The company also runs the HELI-ALPS Flight School, which holds Approved Training Organisation certificate CH.ATO.0284. The school is based in Sion and also trains pilots in Ticino. It says it has been training pilots since 1987, first under the name Groupe Hélico Sion.
Flyers who need a helicopter in the Valais, for example a transfer to a ski resort, a heliski drop or a short regional trip, can book directly with the company that flies the aircraft. For longer flights, the Bell 429 twin is the type to ask about.
