Closest Airport to the Monaco Grand Prix 2027: Nice and Helicopters
June 4, 2027 – June 6, 2027

The Monaco Grand Prix 2027 runs from Friday, June 4, to Sunday, June 6, 2027, on the streets of Monte Carlo, and for most private flyers the closest airport to the Monaco Grand Prix is Nice Côte d'Azur, with the last stretch by road or helicopter. Formula 1 lists Monaco as round 8 of 2027, and the Automobile Club de Monaco says the edition will be "the very first European round of the season."
- Friday, June 4: Practice 1 and Sprint Qualifying
- Saturday, June 5: Sprint and Qualifying
- Sunday, June 6: the Grand Prix
- Venue: Circuit de Monaco, Monte Carlo; the ACM gives the full event as June 3 to 6, 2027, "subject to approval by the FIA World Motor Sport Council"
Monaco Grand Prix 2027 dates and the first Monaco sprint
Formula 1's event page lists the session order above. The headline change for 2027 is the Sprint format, which the ACM describes as "bringing two qualifying sessions and two races" to Monaco for the first time. With sessions that matter on all three days, arriving on Thursday or early Friday gives you the most margin. The circuit is 3.337 km long, and F1 notes that the race was part of the first world championship season in 1950.
Monaco Grand Prix 2027 tickets and hospitality
The ACM says official ticket sales for 2027 are open through its official ticketing site, and its race page lists hospitality packages, including VIP boxes and the Belvédère. Prices are shown in the ticket shop rather than on the pages we reviewed. Buy from the ACM or its named partners, and check whether a package includes access on all three days.
What is the closest airport to the Monaco Grand Prix?
Monaco has no airport of its own. Nice Côte d'Azur's business aviation page describes a dedicated Business Aviation Terminal with its own customs post and parking for about 120 business aircraft, depending on type. Cannes-Mandelieu, also run by Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur, is another option for smaller jets, though it is farther from Monaco. The airport pages describe facilities in general and do not address Grand Prix week, and we make no claim about slots, parking or handling during it. Our Nice private jet page lists providers based there.
Helicopter transfer from Nice to the Monaco Grand Prix
Helicopters are the main alternative to the road. Nice airport says it "sees substantial helicopter activity," notably "regular Nice-Monaco services," and has a helicopter terminal with fourteen helicopter stands. At the other end, the Monaco government's heliport page says the heliport is managed by the Civil Aviation Authority and sits in Fontvieille, "behind the Louis II Stadium." The same page says several companies run regular shuttles between Monaco and Nice airport, and that check-in for domestic and most international flights leaving Nice can be completed at the Monaco heliport. From Fontvieille, ask how long the walk or ride to your grandstand or hospitality area will take.
How to get to Monaco F1 from Nice without a helicopter? A car transfer works too; ask your provider how long the drive takes at the hours you plan to travel. For the trade-offs between arrival options, see How to Choose a Private Jet Departure Airport Near a Major City, and see our Monaco page for local providers.
What to confirm with your provider
- Have arrival and departure times at Nice been secured for your dates, and how far ahead must they be requested?
- Will the aircraft stay at Nice over the weekend, or drop you off and reposition?
- Who books the helicopter transfer to Monaco, and what happens if weather grounds it?
- How much time should you allow between landing at Nice and the first session you want to see?
- How busy does the provider expect Sunday evening departures to be, and how would leaving Monday change the quote?
- What are the change and cancellation terms?
Event details and ticketing are on the official Automobile Club de Monaco site. Explore private jet providers on PJReviews.com and compare provider reviews before you book.
