Goodwood Festival of Speed 2027 dates and tickets
Goodwood announced the 2027 Festival of Speed dates on July 9, 2026: "the Festival of Speed returns on 15th-18th July 2027." The same post says tickets "will be on general sale in November," and that members of its GRRC Fellowship can secure tickets earlier, with benefits including a ten per cent discount on two tickets and grandstand passes. That answers the common question of the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2027 tickets release date: November 2026, or earlier through the Fellowship. Hospitality and packages are listed on the official festival page.
What is Goodwood Festival of Speed?
It is a four-day motoring festival built around the hillclimb in the grounds of Goodwood House. Goodwood says the festival started in 1993, and its festival page describes cars and drivers tackling the hillclimb, the Forest Rally Stage and the Off-Road Arena, with new-car launches and the closing Shootout. The 2027 timetable will appear on the official site once published.
Goodwood Festival of Speed nearest airport: the estate aerodrome
Goodwood Aerodrome (EGHR) is on the estate itself and says it "welcomes members and visiting pilots all year round." Its arriving by air page describes flying in as "a stress-free way to travel, especially during our busy event period," and states that "fixed-wing and rotary aircraft are welcome during the Festival of Speed," while other Goodwood events are helicopter-only. Arrivals are "Strictly PPR," meaning prior permission is required, and the aerodrome publishes event landing fees on that page. Runway length and surface will decide whether your aircraft can use it, so this is the first thing to check.
For larger jets, Farnborough Airport (EGLF) in Hampshire, which describes itself as "the largest and the most pre-eminent business aviation airport in the UK," is the other airport to discuss, followed by a road or helicopter transfer to the estate. Neither airport has published 2027 festival arrangements, and this guide makes no claim about slots or parking. See our pages on Farnborough and Chichester.
Goodwood Festival of Speed helicopter transfer
Goodwood's arriving by air page names Elite Helicopters as the aerodrome's official partner, able to arrange charters from pre-agreed locations such as hotels, airfields and private sites, and describes a shuttle from Eashing Farm to the aerodrome of about 15 minutes. A fixed-wing arrival at Farnborough followed by a helicopter leg is therefore a realistic plan to price with your provider.
How to get to Goodwood Festival of Speed from London
From London, the choices are road, rail to Chichester and a transfer, or a short flight into the estate. If you are staying in London and flying in for a single day, a helicopter from a London heliport or an airfield near your hotel avoids the drive to West Sussex. International visitors from non-visa countries also need an Electronic Travel Authorisation to enter the UK.
What to wear to Goodwood Festival of Speed? The official festival site has a Dress Code section, so check it before you pack. It is an outdoor event across a large estate, so plan for the weather and for walking.
What to confirm with your provider
- Can your aircraft use Goodwood Aerodrome's runway, and has PPR been requested for your arrival and departure times?
- If not, is Farnborough the right arrival airport, and how long is the transfer to the estate by car or helicopter?
- Who books the helicopter leg, and how does it connect with the fixed-wing arrival?
- Does the quote include the published event landing fees, handling and parking?
- Do all passengers have the right UK entry documents, including an ETA where required?
- How busy does the provider expect departures to be on Sunday, July 18, and how would a later return change the quote?
