FBO and maintenance group founded 1968; charter and management sold to Solairus
Clay Lacy Aviation is a US business aviation company that has operated since 1968. It is headquartered at Van Nuys Airport (VNY) in Los Angeles.
For decades the company was known for private jet charter and aircraft management. In August 2026, Solairus Aviation announced it would acquire Clay Lacy's aircraft management and charter divisions. Trade press put Clay Lacy's managed fleet at about 140 aircraft and Solairus's at about 360. Clay Lacy's website now directs charter and aircraft management enquiries to Solairus.
Clay Lacy's FBO, maintenance and real estate businesses were not part of the sale. They continue under the Clay Lacy name. The company lists four FBO locations, which offer sustainable aviation fuel. Its maintenance services range from line maintenance and heavy airframe inspections to full MRO and 24/7 AOG support.
The website lists operations at Van Nuys (VNY), John Wayne/Orange County (SNA), Waterbury-Oxford (OXC) in Connecticut, which serves the New York area, Friedman Memorial (SUN) in Sun Valley, and Seattle (BFI) for maintenance. The company says it has been certified carbon neutral since 2019.
Flyers looking for charter on aircraft formerly managed by Clay Lacy should contact Solairus Aviation.
