Flexjet's Sikorsky S-76 helicopter programs in the US Northeast and Florida
Flexjet Helicopters is the rotary-wing division of US fractional jet company Flexjet. Flexjet launched it in June 2022 after its parent, Directional Aviation, bought Associated Aircraft Group (AAG). AAG was a long-running helicopter operator in the New York area, and nearly 50 of its staff moved to the new division, including pilots, mechanics and operations personnel. This listing is located in Stratford, Connecticut.
Flexjet's programme page lists several ways to fly. Jet owners can add a helicopter lease to their jet share, or use their jet hours on helicopters under the interchange option. Standalone leases start at 25 hours a year. A helicopter card sells hours in 10-hour blocks at fixed rates. The division also manages privately owned helicopters, with in-house operations, maintenance and parts. When the division launched, Flexjet also described an on-demand charter option.
The fleet is the Sikorsky S-76, and Flexjet says it owns and operates these aircraft. Flexjet gives the S-76 a capacity of up to six passengers with two pilots and a range of about 300 nautical miles. Typical trips include Teterboro to Manhattan, Manhattan to the Hamptons, and Miami to the Bahamas.
Flexjet flies helicopters in the Northeast on a seasonal basis and in Florida all year. At launch it said the division had a 4AIR Bronze sustainability rating and a safety management system run through Baldwin Safety, with two S-76-qualified pilots on each flight. Flexjet's company-wide accreditations include ARGUS Platinum and IS-BAO Stage 2.
