Los Angeles-based private charter broker (Surf On Demand) and regional airline group
Surf Air Mobility is a publicly listed air mobility company headquartered in Los Angeles. It completed its acquisition of Southern Airways and listed on the NYSE in July 2023.
For private flyers, the relevant part of the business is Surf On Demand, which sells on-demand charter, jet cards, empty-leg flights and cargo charter. Surf On Demand states that it is not an air carrier and does not own or operate aircraft. Flights it arranges are operated by Southern Airways Express or by independent third-party air carriers.
In March 2026 Surf On Demand earned ARGUS Certified Charter Broker accreditation. The company reported $10.1 million of Surf On Demand charter revenue in the first quarter of 2026, up 77% on the previous year, and described it as the strongest quarter for that business since it launched. It also runs a program called Powered by Surf On Demand for independent brokers.
The group also runs scheduled commuter service under the Southern Airways and Mokulele Airlines brands, including routes in Hawaii. In the first quarter of 2026 these carried about 65,000 passengers on roughly 12,500 departures.
