Maverick Helicopters - Orange County

Maverick Helicopters is a helicopter tour and charter company that also flies in Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon and Maui. In 2023 it announced an expansion into Southern California, and by early 2024 aviation press reported that it was offering charter services and tours from Long Beach.

In California the company sells sightseeing tours over Los Angeles and the coast, scheduled-style transfers between the mainland and Catalina Island, and private experiences on the island. Its website also has a private charters page and lists event transfers, for example to the Coachella Valley. The Catalina transfer is listed as a flight of about 15 minutes.

According to the California tour pages, departures are from the Queen Mary terminal in Long Beach, Santa Monica Airport and Catalina Island. The company's 2023 expansion announcement described a fleet of more than 45 EC130 helicopters across its operations and said Sikorsky S-76 helicopters would be added for the Southern California charter market. A 2023 pilot job posting also mentioned a new Long Beach base flying the S-76 and EC130.

This listing carries an Orange County (Santa Ana) address, but the official California pages name only Long Beach, Santa Monica and Catalina as departure points. Flyers looking for point-to-point charter should confirm the departure location and which helicopter type will be used.
