US private aviation company offering memberships and on-demand jet charter
Wheels Up is a private aviation company in the United States whose parent, Wheels Up Experience Inc., files reports with the US Securities and Exchange Commission and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. It sells membership programs and on-demand private flights to individual and corporate customers.
In January 2020 the company completed a transaction with Delta Air Lines that combined Delta Private Jets with Wheels Up. Delta's announcement at the time said eligible Wheels Up members could earn Delta Medallion status and SkyMiles and use prepaid Wheels Up Fund balances on both Wheels Up private flights and Delta commercial flights. Delta has also provided financing to the company, according to its 2025 filings.
Wheels Up flies part of its programme on a controlled fleet operated under its own FAA operating certificate. Its 2025 filings describe a move away from several legacy jet types toward two families, the Embraer Phenom 300 series and the Bombardier Challenger 300 series, while retaining the King Air 350i turboprop. The company says it expects at least 80% of its controlled jet fleet to be Phenom and Challenger aircraft once the transition is largely complete, targeted for the end of 2026.
Because flights may be operated on the company's own fleet or arranged with other operators, flyers should ask which aircraft and which operating carrier will apply to a given trip and how membership or Fund terms affect pricing and availability.
