Blue Hill Helicopters LLC

Blue Hill Helicopters is a helicopter company at Norwood Memorial Airport (KOWD), just southwest of Boston, Massachusetts. Its listed address is on Access Road at the airport. The business started as a helicopter flight school and later added scenic tours, private charter and services for aircraft owners.

For private flyers, the main service is on-demand helicopter charter from Norwood. The company publishes set routes to Boston Logan, Cape Cod airports such as Hyannis, Chatham and Provincetown, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Routes also cover the Manhattan heliports, White Plains, East Hampton and Farmingdale in New York, plus points in New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Frequent flyers can join a membership called HeliPass, which the company says gives guaranteed access and preferred pricing.

Pilot job ads from the company describe a fleet of Robinson R44 and Bell 206 JetRanger helicopters. The company's own pages say it has its own fleet and a charter certificate, and that owners can place managed helicopters on that certificate. Together this suggests it runs its own aircraft rather than only booking flights with other operators.

Owners of helicopters can hire the company to manage them. This covers maintenance tracking, FAA compliance records, insurance coordination, pilot supply, hangar and fuel arrangements, and charter revenue when the owner is not flying. The site also lists aircraft brokerage and aircraft delivery.

The company also runs private and professional pilot training and scenic tours over Boston. Flyers comparing charter options may want to confirm which aircraft type will fly their route and its passenger and baggage limits. The online quote form asks for the number of passengers, their average weight and the bag count.
