Pilatus PC-12 and PC-24 charter and aircraft management from Las Vegas
AirSmart is a private aviation company based in the Las Vegas area of Nevada; the listing gives North Las Vegas Airport (VGT). The business was founded in 2005 as Steelman Aviation and adopted the AirSmart name in 2019. Its website names Paul Steelman as the founder.
Flights are operated by Steelman Aviation, Inc., which AirSmart says holds FAA/DOT Air Carrier Certificate 8SMA581M. AirSmart therefore runs its own aircraft rather than only brokering flights. Its main services are on-demand charter, including empty-leg offers, and aircraft management.
The fleet consists of Swiss-built Pilatus aircraft: the single-engine PC-12 turboprop and the PC-24 light jet. In a 2019 Pilatus news story the company had five PC-12s and one PC-24. That count is several years old and may have changed. Both types can use shorter runways than many jets, which can help with access to smaller airports.
Pilatus describes AirSmart as serving private flights across the western United States. In the past AirSmart also sold fractional shares in its aircraft. Sources disagree on whether that program is still offered, so flyers interested in shares should ask the company directly. The website shows NATA membership branding but no ARGUS, Wyvern or IS-BAO rating.
