Part 135 air charter operator based in Marshall, Minnesota, flying jets and turboprops
Charter First is an on-demand air charter business based in Minnesota. Its website says it is operated by Midwest Aviation and describes the company as an FAA certified air carrier, meaning it flies charter trips on its own operating certificate rather than brokering them to other operators.
The website presents the business around private charter for business and leisure travellers, with an online quote request for one-way, round-trip and multi-leg trips. It also has an aircraft services section.
The fleet section of the site lists six aircraft types: Cessna Citation 650 and Citation 550 jets, Beechcraft King Air B200 and King Air C90 turboprops, and the piston twins Piper Chieftain and Piper Aerostar. This mix suits short regional trips as well as longer domestic flights. The site does not say how many aircraft of each type are currently on certificate.
Minnesota's Department of Transportation lists Charter First among the state's commercial charter operators, at Southwest Minnesota Regional Airport in Marshall. The site's own copy claims a history of more than 45 years.
Flyers should note that much of the company's website appears not to have been updated for some years. It is worth confirming the current fleet, base and operating certificate directly before booking.
