Helena, Montana air charter and aircraft management operator since 1931
Exec Air Montana is an air charter company based at Helena Regional Airport (HLN) in Montana. It says it has been in Helena since 1931 and describes itself as the state's oldest air charter company.
The company flies passenger charters and medical patient transfers, and also manages aircraft for owners. Its website lists operating hours of 5:00 am to midnight every day of the year, with after-hours flights available on request.
In January 2021, Waltzing Matilda Aviation, a Part 135 operator based in Bedford, Massachusetts, took majority ownership of Exec Air Montana's charter and aircraft management business. At the time, AIN reported a fleet of six aircraft and described Exec Air Montana as the only charter operator at Helena. In the same period the former Exec Air Montana FBO and related ground services at HLN were sold to Leading Edge Jet Center, so the charter company and the FBO are now separate businesses.
The company states that it holds ARG/US Gold rating for safety. Fleet listings from charter marketplaces describe a mix of King Air turboprops, a twin Cessna and a light jet, but the current fleet should be confirmed directly. Earlier descriptions of aircraft rental and flight training appear to belong to the former FBO side rather than the current charter company.
