Aircraft sales, parts and repair station in Hayti, Missouri, founded in 1949
Mid-Continent Aircraft Corp. is an aviation business in Hayti, in Missouri's Bootheel region. Richard Reade founded it in 1949, and it is based at Mid Continent Airport (M28), a private field about two miles east of town that the company owns.
Its activities include aircraft sales, an aircraft parts division and an FAA-certificated repair station. It also has an agricultural spraying operation and an aviation insurance agency, so much of the business serves agricultural aviation.
Reports also mention satellite locations in Estherwood, Louisiana, and Potomac, Illinois. No charter or jet card services were found.
EASA's suspected unapproved parts notices state that between 2005 and 2008 the company produced some parts for sale without the required FAA approvals, including parts sold in a kit marketed as the 'Load Hawg' kit. Buyers may want to ask about this history and check current repair station status with the FAA.
