Fixed-base operator (Jet Center Los Angeles) at Hawthorne Municipal Airport (HHR), California
This listing is the fixed-base operator (FBO) at Hawthorne Municipal Airport, also called Jack Northrop Field, at 12101 S. Crenshaw Blvd in Hawthorne, California. Its website trades under the name Jet Center Los Angeles. The airport is a general aviation reliever airport owned by the City of Hawthorne and sits about three miles from LAX.
The FBO serves aircraft owners, operators and pilots. Through its service request form, visiting crews can ask for hangar space, 100LL or Jet A fuel, quick turns, lavatory and potable water service, oxygen, catering, crew or rental cars, and hotel bookings. The site also lists event space and filming facilities.
The FBO does not appear to sell charter flights under its own name. Its website sends business and leisure travellers to Advanced Air to book charter flights, so flyers looking for an aircraft should check that operator's own certificate and fleet.
According to the City of Hawthorne, the airport runs 24 hours a day. It has a lighted runway 4,884 feet long and 100 feet wide, rated for aircraft up to 60,000 pounds with dual-wheel gear. That makes it suitable for many light and mid-size business jets, but not the heaviest types.
Ownership has changed recently. In November 2025, eVTOL developer Archer Aviation agreed to take control of the airport for $126 million in cash, a deal that included a 75% stake in the FBO. Archer has since taken over the master ground lease from the City. It plans to make the site the hub of its Los Angeles air taxi network ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games, so the branding and services described here may change.
