Light-sport and touring aircraft maker with US headquarters in DeLand, Florida
Montaer Aircraft LLC is the US company of Montaer, a Brazilian maker of light aircraft. It is based at DeLand Municipal Airport (KDED) in Florida. The Brazilian company, Montaer Aeronaves, is in Feira de Santana, Bahia.
Montaer sells its own aircraft rather than brokering other types. The MC-01 is a two-seat light-sport aircraft aimed at flight schools and private owners. The MC-04 is a four-seat touring aircraft with a turbocharged Rotax 916iS engine. Both have Garmin glass cockpits, and a hand-control system for pilots with disabilities is offered.
Trade press reports that the MC-01 received FAA acceptance as a Special Light-Sport Aircraft in 2019. The company also offers a lease program and lists dealers and service centres in Mississippi, the western US, and Australia and New Zealand.
Montaer builds small piston aircraft, not jets. It is relevant to buyers of light sport or training aircraft rather than charter customers.
