Helicopter operator offering charter and aerial work, with a base at Wolverhampton Airport
PDG Helicopters now trades as PDG Aviation Services. It is a UK helicopter operator with its head office at the heliport on the Dalcross Industrial Estate in Inverness. It also has operating bases at Cumbernauld Airport in Scotland and at Wolverhampton Airport (Halfpenny Green) near Stourbridge, plus a satellite office in Ireland. The Stourbridge address on this listing matches the Wolverhampton base at Rotor Village.
Most of the company's work is aerial work for infrastructure and environmental clients. This includes survey and inspection, aerial lifting and filming, for sectors such as utilities, rail, telecoms, renewables and national parks. Passenger charter is a smaller part of the business, sold under its film and charter sector. The company offers bespoke helicopter transfers for private and corporate groups across the UK and Ireland, including trips to sporting and corporate events.
PDG is an operator, not a broker. It says it owns and operates its own helicopters, several of them in its corporate livery. Aviation photo databases show PDG-titled aircraft at Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green (EGBO), including the Eurocopter EC135T2+ G-GLAB and the AS350B2 Ecureuil G-ORKY. Its website also shows a Dauphin-type helicopter. Aviation trade press has reported that the company added a second H135.
Business Air News lists PDG Helicopters as a UK charter operator with bases at Inverness and Wolverhampton (Halfpenny Green). The same source reported in April 2015 that the company's directors had completed a management buyout. The drone business Team UAV runs separately from the group's Bromsgrove office. Flyers who want a helicopter transfer in the West Midlands or Scotland can contact the base nearest their departure point.
