Atlas Helicopters

Atlas Helicopters is a commercial helicopter operator whose southern UK base is London Elstree Aerodrome in Hertfordshire. The company is part of The Helicopter Company (also referred to as Helicompany), which keeps a northern base at Harrogate in North Yorkshire.

Its main business is private helicopter charter. The company website groups flights into corporate travel, leisure trips, special occasions, country sports and major events, with event packages for fixtures such as Silverstone, Royal Ascot, Goodwood and Cheltenham. It also offers helicopter ownership and management services, and handles ground arrangements around a flight through its booking team.

Atlas flies under its own UK Civil Aviation Authority Air Operator Certificate, number 2201. The CAA's AOC holder list records Airbus Helicopters AS355 and Leonardo AW109 types against the certificate, and aviation news site HeliHub reported that an AW109SP and one of the company's two AS355Ns were stationed at Elstree when the southern base moved there from Lasham on 1 March 2023.

Elstree sits on the northern edge of London. HeliHub noted that it is roughly eight minutes' flying time from The London Heliport at Battersea, which makes it a practical departure point for central London passengers.
