Yorkshire helicopter school offering charter brokerage and pleasure flights from Sherburn
Hields Aviation is a helicopter company based at Sherburn-in-Elmet airfield, about 15 miles from central Leeds. Robert Hields founded it in 1989, and the company calls itself Yorkshire's longest-established helicopter specialist.
Most of its work is pilot training for private and commercial helicopter licences, the PPL(H) and CPL(H). It also offers some fixed-wing training. Trial lessons and pleasure flights are sold as well, including a 45-minute sightseeing loop over Leeds from Sherburn.
For private flyers, the company offers helicopter charter and brokerage, along with aerial filming and photography. Its website does not say whether charters fly on its own aircraft under an air operator certificate or are arranged with other operators. Passengers should confirm the operator before booking.
