Kyiv-based Mi-8 helicopter operator for humanitarian, rescue and contract missions
Aviation Company Ukrainian Helicopters (Avіakompanіia Ukraїnski Vertoloty) is a helicopter airline based in Kyiv, Ukraine. It is organised as a joint-stock company; Interfax-Ukraine reported in February 2025 that CEO Volodymyr Tkachenko holds a 91% stake and Anton Tkachenko the remaining 9%.
The company's own website lists search and rescue, aeromedical evacuation, firefighting, and passenger and cargo transport among its services, along with a combined passenger-cargo configuration. Its stated focus is peacekeeping, humanitarian, disaster-response and commercial projects, largely in regions affected by conflict and emergencies. It also runs a helicopter training centre and an aviation service centre.
According to Interfax-Ukraine, the fleet consists of 23 modernised multipurpose Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters, and the company reports more than 20 years of experience in humanitarian, stabilisation and peacekeeping missions worldwide. The same report said it planned to open a branch in Nairobi, Kenya.
Flyers should note that this is a contract and mission-oriented heavy helicopter operator rather than a typical on-demand passenger charter service. Enquiries about chartering a Mi-8 for passenger or cargo work are best made directly through the company's contact page.
