Saudi Arabia's PIF-backed helicopter operator for charter, air ambulance and tours
The Helicopter Company (THC) is a commercial helicopter operator in Saudi Arabia, headquartered in Riyadh. It was launched by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the Kingdom's sovereign wealth fund, which announced it in 2019 as the country's first national commercial helicopter operator.
THC's services cover private helicopter charter, helicopter emergency medical services (air ambulance), sightseeing flights, and aerial work such as filming, banner towing and aerial surveying. At launch, PIF positioned the company around private transfers between major cities and tourist flights.
The company operates its own aircraft. Its website reports a fleet of 62 aircraft and more than 16 bases in its 2025 figures. Airbus has announced orders from THC including ten H125s in December 2020 and a further agreement in December 2021 covering H145 and ACH160 helicopters, and the company's first aircraft was an AW139.
With bases spread across the Kingdom, THC serves domestic routes and destinations within Saudi Arabia. Private flyers looking for helicopter transfers in the country, including to tourism and development projects, will find it is the largest locally established operator.
