German helicopter operator with charter, aerial work and a flight school, four bases
DHD Heliservice GmbH is a German commercial helicopter company. Its head office is in Ochtendung, Rhineland-Palatinate, and it runs further sites at Kesselsdorf airfield near Dresden in Saxony, in Lüneburg, and at the business aviation centre of Hamburg Airport.
Most of its work is commercial aerial work: power line and pipeline inspections, agricultural and forestry flights, firefighting support, external-load and assembly flights, survey and documentation flights, and photo and film missions. It also flies passengers, presenting the helicopter as a business travel option for trips of up to roughly 500 km, and handles event flights.
The company states that it operates a fleet of 14 helicopters of its own. Types shown on its fleet page include the Bell 206, Airbus AS355, Eurocopter AS350 B2 and Hughes 369-series light helicopters.
DHD lists an Air Operator Certificate (D-356EG), an approved training organisation (DE.ATO.189) for PPL(H), LAPL(H), CPL(H) and IR(H) training, a Part 145 maintenance approval and a CAMO. Its maintenance shop services its own and third-party helicopters and it also buys and sells helicopters. It works across Germany and takes on assignments elsewhere in Europe, with around 30 staff.
