Monaco helicopter operator: Nice-Monaco shuttle, private charters and Riviera transfers
Monacair is a helicopter company founded in Monaco in 1988 by Stefano Casiraghi and now led by Pierre and Andrea Casiraghi. The Monacair group also includes Héli Sécurité and the maintenance company Rotor Team.
Its best-known service is the regular helicopter shuttle between Nice Côte d'Azur Airport and the Monaco Heliport, a flight of about seven minutes. It also flies private charters on the French Riviera and further afield, scenic flights, and transfers for events such as the Monaco Yacht Show, and it offers private jet charter for longer trips.
The fleet listed on its website covers single- and twin-engine types, including the Airbus H125, H130, AS355, H135 and H155, the Bell 429 and the AgustaWestland AW109. The company also manages helicopters and crews for private owners and provides handling, hangarage and in-house maintenance.
Bases named by the company are Monaco, Cannes, Annecy and Saint-Tropez. Charter destinations include Saint-Tropez, Courchevel, Méribel and Megève, Geneva and Gstaad in Switzerland, Milan and Portofino in Italy, and Corsica and Sardinia.
In 2022 Blade Air Mobility agreed to acquire Monacair's commercial passenger business for EUR 48 million. Flights continue to be operated by Monacair under the Blade, Héli Sécurité and Monacair (BHSM) alliance, with Blade handling bookings.
