Turboprop and business jet charter, management and FBO services from Winnipeg
Fast Air is a Canadian charter operator headquartered at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (CYWG) in Manitoba. The company started there in 1995 as an aircraft charter and management provider.
Its core business is private charter on turboprop and business jet aircraft for business, group and leisure travel. It also manages aircraft for owners, handling crew staffing and maintenance coordination and placing the aircraft on charter to generate revenue. Air ambulance and critical care transport are offered through its medevac division, Vanguard Air Care, which is also based in Winnipeg.
Fast Air also runs ground services. In 2015 it bought the existing Esso Avitat FBO at Winnipeg, and aviation press has described it as the dominant FBO on that field. The company holds a Transport Canada-approved aircraft maintenance organization and offers maintenance and avionics work. It has added a second location at Abbotsford (CYXX), British Columbia, which provides FBO services and serves as a western charter base.
The company's own pages do not give a current fleet list. Press coverage over the years has mentioned King Air turboprops and managed business jets such as a Gulfstream G150. Published fleet sizes vary by source and date.
Fast Air displays NBAA and CBAA membership logos on its website. No third-party safety audit such as ARGUS, Wyvern or IS-BAO was confirmed during research.
