Helicopter charter and aerial work across northern BC and Alberta
Ridge Rotors Inc. is a helicopter operator serving northern British Columbia and Alberta. The company was founded in 2003 in Blue Ridge, Alberta, with a single Bell 206 JetRanger. It opened a base at Tumbler Ridge, BC in 2004, and in 2020 added a base at the east end of Chetwynd Airport.
Its work is mainly air transportation and aerial work. The company moves crews and supplies to remote job sites and other locations where roads are poor or absent. Helicopter sightseeing tours are sold separately under the Ridge Heli Adventures name.
The company says it now has 12 helicopters. The only type it names is the Bell 206 JetRanger it started with. Since 2017 it has had a working agreement with Taiga Helicopters, operating together as the Taiga Ridge Heli Group out of Whitecourt, Alberta, which the company says gives customers access to a wider range of helicopter types.
Ridge Rotors is mainly suited to industrial and resource-sector clients and to travellers who need helicopter access in the northeast BC and northwest Alberta region. It is not a business jet operator.
