Helicopter airline and charter operator: helicopters, jets and air medical in BC, Canada
Helijet International Inc. is a privately held Canadian helicopter airline and charter operator founded in 1986. Its head office is at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in Richmond, British Columbia. The company also has charter operations in Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, Prince Rupert and Haida Gwaii. The company reports a staff of more than 160.
Helijet operates its own aircraft. It does not act as a broker. Alongside scheduled helicopter flights between Vancouver, Victoria and Nanaimo, it runs a charter division that flies helicopter and corporate jet charters. It also provides helicopter and jet air ambulance services. The company also offers exclusive-use helicopter and fixed-wing contracts for sport fishing lodges, public service clients and energy companies on the BC coast.
The charter aircraft listed on Helijet's website include the Eurocopter (Airbus) AStar and Sikorsky S-76 helicopters, plus Cessna Citation X and Learjet 31A business jets. Helijet has said it has placed an order for BETA Technologies' electric ALIA vertical-takeoff aircraft.
Its charter pages cover the South Coast and the North and Central Coast of British Columbia. Jet charters extend further across North America. A wholly owned subsidiary, Pacific Heliport Services Ltd., runs the Transport Canada-certified heliports in downtown Vancouver, Victoria and Nanaimo.
Helijet holds Canadian air operator certificate 4622 and a US foreign air carrier authorization. Danny Sitnam is its president. Flyers can use the scheduled service for point-to-point trips between city centres, or book a charter for remote coastal destinations and private jet trips.
