Canadian charter operator, aircraft manager and FBO founded in Montreal in 1986
Skyservice Business Aviation is a Canadian business aviation company that started in 1986 with a single fixed-base operation at Montreal's Dorval airport, now Montréal-Trudeau International (CYUL). Montreal remains one of its main locations, alongside facilities in Toronto and Calgary. It was founded by Russ Payson.
The company operates its own charter fleet. According to a 2011 AIN report, it then had about 60 owned and managed business jets, most of them available for charter, and held a Platinum rating from ARGUS. The same report said it was the first charter operator outside the United States to complete the Air Charter Safety Foundation audit, and that it had introduced a Transport Canada-approved safety management system in 2003.
Beyond charter, Skyservice offers aircraft management for owners and runs FBOs with fuel and passenger handling. It also provides maintenance, with factory-recognised service status for Bombardier, Hawker Beechcraft and Dassault Falcon aircraft reported by AIN, plus avionics work. The company has also offered fixed-wing air ambulance flights.
Fleet size and ratings change over time, so flyers should confirm current figures and audit status directly with the company before booking.
