Gateway Facilities FBO

Gateway Facilities is an aviation business at Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) in Goffs, Nova Scotia. It opened in 2010 and provides fixed-base operator services such as fuelling and aircraft handling, and it is a common stop for business aircraft crossing the Atlantic.

The business has several arms. The FBO handles corporate, charter and private aircraft. The cargo side runs refrigerated and general cargo storage. Global Aviation Services, a sister maintenance company, offers maintenance and hangar storage. Executive charter is sold through Maritime Air Charter.

Maritime Air Charter is Halifax-based and has offered on-demand charter since about 1996. It started with a Piper Navajo and now flies a Beechcraft King Air B200. It has also offered jet charter on an IAI Astra SPX through a partnership. Skies magazine reported in 2023 that Steve Christiansen leads Maritime Air Charter, Gateway Facilities and Global Aviation Services, which together employ about 50 people.

Gateway is a good fit for flyers needing a fuel or handling stop in Atlantic Canada, or a turboprop charter out of Halifax.
