Manitoba-based helicopter operator for utility, aeromedical and industrial work
Custom Helicopters Ltd. is a Canadian helicopter operator founded in 1977. Its head office is in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and its mailing address is St. Andrews Airport. Exchange Income Corporation, a Canadian aviation and manufacturing group, has owned it since 2012.
Most of its work is contract and specialist flying. This includes aeromedical transport with paramedics, flight nurses and respiratory therapists on board, plus search and rescue, mineral exploration support, power and telecom line work, wildlife surveys, forest firefighting and heavy lift. It also offers night-vision goggle operations and helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul.
The fleet is described as more than 30 aircraft. Named types include the Sikorsky S-76 (used for air ambulance work) and the Leonardo AW139. The company says it has operational bases across Canada, and recent posts mention British Columbia and Newfoundland and Labrador. It also operates the Air Borealis helicopter fleet in Labrador.
Exchange Income Corporation says the company mainly serves Manitoba, Nunavut and British Columbia in the aeromedical, utility, mining and government sectors. Corporate transport and aerial photography are on its service list, but leisure charter is not a stated focus.
