Phoenix Heli-Flight

Phoenix Heli-Flight is a privately owned helicopter operator based at 1001 Saline Creek Parkway in Fort McMurray, Alberta, serving the Wood Buffalo region of northern Alberta. Its president, Paul Spring, is also described as a working pilot.

The company flies its own fleet of Airbus helicopters. Its website lists the EC135T2e and AS355 twins and several single-engine types, including the H130, AS350B3 and AS350B2 and EC120B. In 2016 Airbus Helicopters announced that Phoenix had taken the first utility-configured H130 delivered in North America.

Work covers passenger transport, cargo and slinging, construction support, environmental and forestry work, wildfire suppression, aerial photography and drone services. The company also runs a medevac service in the Fort McMurray area, supported through the Local HERO Foundation, and offers sightseeing tours of the city, the oil sands and nearby river valleys.

For private flyers, it is mainly relevant for charter flights to remote sites and regional travel in northeastern Alberta rather than long-distance jet travel.
