Brazilian air taxi and air ambulance operator with bases from Porto Velho to Brasília
Rima Aviação is the trading name of Rio Madeira Aerotáxi (RIMA), a Brazilian air taxi company that started operating in the Amazon region in 2001. It is associated with Porto Velho, Rondônia, and has expanded to other bases around the country.
The company offers on-demand air taxi flights, aeromedical transport including air ICU flights, and cargo transport by whole-aircraft charter. Its website also mentions aircraft maintenance, hangarage and waiting lounges at its bases, and a 24-hour service line. The company says it has flown more than 10,000 flights and has a focus on reaching remote areas that airlines do not serve.
The fleet shown on its website consists of turboprops suited to regional flying: the Beechcraft King Air B200, seating up to eight passengers, and the Cessna Grand Caravan C208B, seating up to nine or carrying around 1,500 kg of cargo.
Rima lists bases in Brasília, Goiânia, Manaus, Porto Velho and Boa Vista. Brazil's civil aviation authority ANAC reviewed and renewed the company's authorisation to provide non-scheduled air taxi services in 2017. The website also states that the company is IATA-certified.
