Family-owned Port Macquarie airline with Lord Howe Island flights and charter
Eastern Air Services is a family-owned and operated airline based at Port Macquarie Airport on the New South Wales Mid North Coast. Its hangars are at Keena Place on the airport.
The company's main business is scheduled flying to Lord Howe Island, with departures from Port Macquarie, Newcastle and the Gold Coast. Local press reported the Newcastle route opening in November 2020. It also flies private charters for up to 10 passengers from Port Macquarie to destinations across Australia, including island trips.
For charter and Lord Howe flights the airline has used pressurised Beechcraft King Air 200 series turboprops, according to aviation trade reporting and Lord Howe Island visitor information. Its published hire fleet also includes piston twins such as the Beech Baron and Piper Chieftain.
Eastern Air Services also runs scenic flights from Port Macquarie and Lord Howe Island, an air freight service and a flight school offering training from recreational through to commercial pilot licences, with a fleet of Cessna, Piper and other training aircraft and a Baron simulator.
