ATR turboprop charter for FIFO crews, groups and freight, based in Brisbane
Aerlink is an Australian charter airline headquartered in Brisbane and formerly known as Hevilift Australia. It operates its own aircraft under the oversight of Australia's Civil Aviation Safety Authority and handles crewing, training and maintenance in-house.
Its main work is fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) charter for mining and resources companies, moving workforces between cities and remote sites. It also flies tailored ad hoc passenger charters and freight. Since mid-2024 it has flown a freighter rotation for Qantas Freight linking Mackay, Rockhampton and Brisbane under a multi-year contract.
The fleet is made up entirely of ATR turboprops in passenger and cargo versions. Trade press reporting from July 2024 counted one ATR 42-300 freighter, two ATR 72-500 freighters and six ATR 72-500 passenger aircraft, alongside an ATR 72-200 freighter assigned to the Qantas Freight work. These are 40-plus seat regional airliners, so Aerlink suits group, corporate team and workforce moves rather than small private parties.
Aerlink states that it operates to the BARS Gold standard, the Basic Aviation Risk Standard widely required by resource-sector clients, and it runs a carbon emissions programme. Flyers organising a large group or a recurring site rotation can request a tailored quote; fleet numbers may have changed since the 2024 reporting.
