Helicopter charter, transfers, scenic flights and airwork across the Northern Territory
North Australian Helicopters (NAH) is a helicopter operator in Australia's Northern Territory. The company started in 1993 with a single Robinson R22. Its website lists three bases, at Darwin, Jabiru and Katherine. Tourism listings describe the registered office as being in Katherine and name its tourism arm Coolibah Air.
Its work covers bespoke charters and transfers alongside scenic flying. Transfer destinations listed include Jabiru and Kakadu, Arnhem Land, Litchfield National Park, Katherine, the Tiwi Islands, Dundee Beach and remote lodges. Scenic flights are offered over Kakadu National Park, Katherine Gorge and the Victoria River region, and heli-fishing trips are also available.
Much of the company's flying is airwork. This includes cattle mustering, aerial spraying, mining and exploration support, powerline and pipeline surveys, filming, sling loads and heli-rescue. The company says it holds Northern Territory government contracts for charter and airwork, including fire control and controlled burning.
The fleet is mostly light helicopters. The official site lists Robinson R22, R44 and R66 aircraft plus Bell 206 JetRangers and LongRangers. Fleet counts differ between the official site and tourism listings, so flyers who need a particular type or seat count should confirm availability when booking.
For private flyers, NAH is a local operator rather than a broker. It suits short transfers into Kakadu, Arnhem Land and other remote Top End sites where fixed-wing access is limited.
