Northern Territory charter operator flying from Darwin, Alice Springs and Katherine
Chartair is a general aviation operator in Australia's Northern Territory. It has offices in Darwin and Alice Springs and a base at Katherine, and its website says it is associated with the Aviation Logistics Group, a general aviation operator with bases along the east coast and in the Territory.
The company flies its own aircraft. The Northern Territory tourism board describes a fleet of 40 fixed-wing aircraft operated under a low-capacity Regular Public Transport Air Operator Certificate that covers both scheduled and charter flights. An aviation press report lists Cessna 441, 402C, 310R, 208B and 210 types and a Pilatus PC-12 in the fleet; that report was seen only in a search summary.
Chartair offers commercial, FIFO, freight, medical and tourism charters. It also runs scheduled passenger flights, mainly between Darwin and Katherine, and mail-plane services under the federal Remote Air Services Subsidy Scheme in the Northern Territory and Western Australia. Its website also lists aerial survey, aircraft recovery, maintenance and ground handling.
The tourism board says Chartair has operated for more than 50 years, and its roots trace back to Alice Springs in 1974.
