Helicopter tours, charter transfers and aerial work from Castlereagh near Sydney
Sydney Helicopters is a helicopter operator based at Nepean Aerospace Park on Old Castlereagh Road in Castlereagh, in the Penrith area of western Sydney. The business dates back to 1985 and has been owned since 2006 by Mark Harrold, who also serves as chief pilot, according to a 2025 feature in Vertical magazine.
For passengers, the company runs scenic flights over Sydney and the surrounding region, lunch and pub tours, overnight packages, and charter work such as point-to-point transfers, group transfers, event transfers and wedding flights. Gift vouchers are also sold through its website.
Alongside passenger flying, a large part of the business is aerial work: filming and photography, external load and aerial crane jobs, survey and observation flights, and support for bushfire, flood and emergency response.
The company states that it owns and maintains its entire fleet and flies turbine helicopters only. Its fleet page lists Bell 206B, Airbus AS350 and twin-engine Bell 412 helicopters. Maintenance is carried out by Aerotech Sydney Pty Ltd, a CASA-approved maintenance organisation within the group.
The Castlereagh facility opened in late 2024 after the company left Rosehill Heliport, its home for 27 years. The group also lists the related brands Coast Helicopters, Alpine Helicopters and Heli Safari.
