Canberra-founded turboprop charter operator serving eastern and southern Australia
Corporate Air is an Australian aviation company founded in Canberra in 1972. According to its own history, it began as a flying school with a small charter business and bought its first turboprop in 1989. It has since grown into a regional operator holding an airline-category Air Operator's Certificate for domestic and international operations.
The company's main passenger business is corporate charter and fly-in fly-out (FIFO) charter for resources and other workforces, mainly across eastern and southern Australia. It also provides aircraft management and maintenance, FBO and ground handling in Brisbane and Canberra, and flight validation of instrument flight procedures. Its Goulburn, NSW site houses a CASA-approved heavy maintenance facility.
Corporate Air reports operating 16 turboprop aircraft. Its charter fleet comprises Saab 340B+WT airliners, Fairchild Metro 23s and Beechcraft King Air B200/B250s, which makes it more suited to group and crew transport than to small-jet private travel.
Charter bases are listed in Brisbane, Sydney, Goulburn, Canberra and Melbourne. The company states it holds Flight Safety Foundation BARS Gold accreditation. In 2016 it moved into scheduled services under the Fly Corporate brand, which later became Link Airways, according to independent reporting.
