5X Aviation (Formerly Smartair)

5X Aviation is a general aviation business at Albury, New South Wales. Its website gives an address at Hangars 11 and 12, 48-54 Avalon Street, Albury. The listing says the company was formerly Smartair, an Albury business that a 2021 Australian Flying article dates back to 1968.

The company works in several areas. It trains pilots from beginner to commercial level, flies charters, does aerial survey work and maintains aircraft. Charter is only one part of the business, and the site describes it in general terms with no aircraft types listed.

5X Aviation calls itself an authorised dealership partner for Foxbat Australia, which sells Aeroprakt light aircraft. Australian Flying reported that Smartair took over the Foxbat Australia agency from 1 July 2021, and that the agency had delivered nearly 250 Aeroprakt aircraft in Australia over 20 years. The same article described Smartair's maintenance work, from light sport aircraft up to pressurised turbine aircraft.

Flyers who want regional light aircraft charter from Albury should ask which aircraft and operating certificate a trip would use. Neither is published on the company's website.
